Hello, after the 1st year the child should have 300-320ml of milk a day. Other dairy products - yoghurts, quark, cheeses - should also be included in this amount. This means that if she eats, for example, one 150g yogurt a day and drinks 150-170ml of milk in the evening or in the morning (formula or breastfed, or later full-fat pasteurized cow’s milk), then she will have a sufficient daily dose.

Hello, I have a 3-month-old son and I’d like to know when I can start giving him baby food?

Hello, if the baby is on formula and is not breastfed, you can start with baby food from the end of the 4th month. If it is fully breastfed and does not weigh more than 6 kg, start at the end of the 6th month. If it weighs more than 6 kg, or it turns out that your milk is no longer enough, you can start earlier, but not earlier than by the end of the 4th month and only after agreement with the local paediatrician. Just start briefly with a single type of vegetable baby food, always try a new food after at least 3 days, then you can add more (due to possible allergies) - for instance carrots, pumpkins, courgettes, broccoli, potatoes etc .After building up a tolerance to vegetables, you can gradually add meat, later fruit and later still dairy products. Introduce gluten between the end of the 4th and 6th month. If you have any more questions, you can ask me a more specific question, or consult your child’s paediatrician about this.

Hello, I have a 3-week-old baby, I only breastfeed. I want to ask if it is normal that she has not had any stool for 3 days, otherwise she looks happy, she eats enough.

Hello, if the baby is lively, wees enough, looks satisfied, passes wind and, at the same time, it is fully breastfed, there is no need to worry. Some fully breastfed babies may not have stools for a week, but this is still quite normal. If you think something is wrong, then see a paediatrician

Hello, I want to ask when should I start brushing my kid’s teeth and whether toothpaste needs to be used right from the start?
08/06/20 14:41
Hello, the ideal time to start brushing your child's teeth is immediately when the 1st tooth breaks through; so-called “chewing” toothbrushes, normal toothbrushes and a silicone finger toothbrush are all suitable. Toothpaste is not needed at first, if you want to use it, use it only in a very small amount.

How much milk does a 12-month-old baby need?
08/06/20 14:44
Hello .... my daughter was breastfed from the beginning, but later, from about 9 months, she was only breastfed in the morning and in the evening, or sometimes during the day she suckled a little. I get the impression that she always drank rather small doses. What I want to know is how much milk and how many times a day should a small child drink for healthy development ? She was one year old recently. So how should it be? Thanks a lot, Jane.
